Wednesday, 18 September - Montmorency Falls; Shrine of St Anne Du Beaupre (B,L)
We depart Montreal this morning and drive to Montmorency Falls - 98.5 feet higher than Niagara Falls and are the highest falls in the province of Quebec. There are staircases that allow us to view the falls from several different perspectives. A suspension bridge over the crest of falls provides access to both sides of the park and offers a spectacular view. There is also a cable car to transport passengers from the base to the top of the falls. This seems like a nice place to enjoy our picnic lunch.
The Basilica of Sainte-Anne-de-Beaupré is known for performing many miracles, and people from all around the world come to visit the basilica. Pillars in the front entrance are covered in crutches from people who have been said to have been miraculously cured. The size of the structure is what makes it so impressive and the inside of the building is equally impressive.
We are just a few miles from Quebec City and will drive to the hotel, check in, and relax. Restaurants are plentiful around the hotel.
