Saturday, March 24: Arrive Honolulu; Evening Ship Departure (D)
Arrive no later than 3:00pm in order to give yourself time to get from the airport to the ship. Honolulu, on the island of Oahu, is the capital and largest city of the state of Hawaii and the home of Hawaii's best known tourist destination, Waikiki Beach.
The ship will depart Honolulu at 7:00 pm tonight. Everyone must be on board 2 hours prior to departure due to security measures. Once on board we will gather as a group to get acquainted and then have dinner together.
Sunday, 25 March - Maui, The Valley Isle; Best of Maui Tour (B,L,D)
A surplus of natural splendor and the genuine hospitality of its people have helped to make Maui Hawaii's second most popular island. Explore the fascinating history of the town of Lahaina. We will overnight on the ship giving you ample time to further explore Maui after our included shore excursion.
Included Shore Excursion: Today we will have a tour of the Island giving you a chance to see all the natural wonders around you You'll start with a visit to the most well-known and beautiful gorge on the ‘Valley Isle,’ the Iao Valley. Here, you'll visit one of Maui's most striking sights, the Iao Needle, a 2,250-foot cinder cone pinnacle that pierces through the clouds and dominates its lush surroundings. Next, stop at Maui Tropical Plantation, where you'll enjoy a fully narrated 40-minute tram tour through macadamia nut orchards, agricultural villages, sugar cane fields and flower gardens, followed by a delicious lunch. Then at the Maui Ocean Center, experience the underwater journey that gives you an up-close look at some of the beautiful creatures only found in Hawaii's waters.
Monday, 26 March – Maui (B,L,D)
Continue our visit to Maui. Picnic at a nearby plantation, plant yourself on a pristine beach or play one of the world's most beautiful golf courses. The WTT tour leader will have suggestions for activities. The ship will remain in Maui until 6:00 pm this evening.
Tuesday, 27 March - Hilo, Hawaii – The Big Island; Volcanoes National Park Tour (B,L,D)
The entire city of Hilo is like one giant greenhouse with spectacular tropical flowers at every turn. Visit the town's well-preserved historic buildings, which date back to the turn of the century and showcase Hawaii's unique architecture.
Just 30 miles away, Hawaii Volcanoes National Park is the home of the active Kilauea Volcano. We will explore Volcanoes National Park as part of our included excursion today. Once back on board tonight the ship sails past the active lava flows. We may get a good look at Kilauea at night with its lava flows glowing in the dark while cruising along the coast.
Included Shore Excursion: Today we explore Volcanoes National Park and learn about Hawaii's Goddess of Fire, Madame Pele, as you drive along the crater's rim as allowed by park rangers; due to activity, parts may be closed. Standing at just over 4,000 feet, Kilauea is not the tallest volcano on the Big Island, but it's certainly the most active. Pass the Halemaumau Fire Pit and the Kilauea Iki Crater before stopping at the Thurston Lava Tube, where a short walk gives you the opportunity for an up-close view of an extinct lava tube. This tour also visits the Hawaii Volcano Observatory and Jaggar Museum. Finally, end your day with a visit to Big Island Candies where you can sample the tasty treats and take some home. Note: While at Volcanoes National Park, you won't see molten lava.
Wednesday, 28 March – Kona (B,L,D)
On the opposite side of the Island of Hawaii is Kona. It offers the quintessential Hawaii experience. Sunny, warm weather and crystal blue waters entice visitors to partake in a variety of surfside fun. Snorkel amongst a kaleidoscope of tropical marine life. Take a surfing lesson, a kayaking trip or head out to deeper waters for some deep-sea fishing. Be sure to bring home some of the famous Kona coffee directly from the growers. The WTT tour leader will have suggestions for activities.
Thursday, 29 March - Kauai – The Garden Isle; Luau (B,L,D)
Named after the Wiliwili trees, which once lined its picturesque harbor, this lovely port of Kauai is your gateway to what many believe to be Hawaii's most beautiful island. On "The Garden Island," nature is truly the star, from the dramatic mountains of Kokee to the cool rain forests of Haena. We will attend a luau for a taste of Hawaii as our included shore excursion this evening. The WTT tour leader will have suggestions for activities during the day.
Included Shore Excursion: Graceful Hula dancers, fire poi ball twirlers, traditional fire knife dancing and a vivid storyteller come together for this once-in-a-lifetime authentic experience. It's all happening in the historic sugar plantation of Kilohana. You'll even get to gather around an imu pit. Trust us, you've never seen a pig roasting like this before. And the buffet of local delicacies and desserts is so lavish; you'd think that was the show.
Friday, 30 March – Kauai (B,L,D)
We will remain on the Island of Kauai until 2:00 pm today. The WTT tour leader will have suggestions for activities. This afternoon we will be cruising along the beautiful Napali Coast.
Saturday, 31 March – Honolulu; Return Home (B)
We will dock in Honolulu at approximately 7:00 am. Disembarkation usually begins 2 hours after docking. Schedule your flights
no earlier than 12:00pm. The WTT Tour Leader will assist in coordinating ride sharing to the airport via taxi.
For travelers with late flights WTT will arrange an island tour and group dinner
(not included in trip price) for those interested.
