What are Hoodoos?
Hoodoo - a pillar of rock, usually of
fantastic shape, left by erosion.
Hoodoo – to cast a spell.
Hoodoo – a group of phenomenal women
hiking, talking, laughing and eating for an entire week within
the grandeurs of the Grand Canyon, Bryce and Zion National
Parks.
Eleven of us spent a
week together as we visited three of the most spectacular
national parks our country has to offer. We started the week at
the North Rim of the Grand Canyon – with the lodge built right
on the edge of the Grand Canyon - and spent
many
an hour sitting on the observation deck or walking the rim
trails viewing the grandeur that is the Grand Canyon.
Then on to Bryce where
we were awestruck when we walked over the crest of the rim to
view the canyon from above. Have you seen Hoodoos before? If
not then this is the place to go. Hiking down into the canyon
was even more spectacular – we all highly recommend the Navajo
Loop Trail – where you can walk among the hoodoos and see
exactly how magnificent these rock formations are. And we will
not forget the homemade pies at Bryce Canyon Pines – worth a
visit for this reason alone!

Our last national park
was Zion – what a difference a few miles make. In Zion we were
down in the canyon surrounded by mountains shaded in different
colors – coming to life with the light of day. What a
magnificent week!
And we certainly will
never forget all the laughing we did as a group – sharing life
stories, funny stories and inspiring stories as we traveled
together on this short (way too short) journey.

Subject: Thank you
Dear
Hazel & Debra,
On May 13 I left
Ft. Lauderdale to Vegas with some apprehension about the North
Rim-Bryce-Zion trip. For one, I had never traveled in groups,
and most of the time my trips were alone or with just one “very
good friend” and I must say that I was a little scared of what
this trip was going to be like traveling with 10 other women,
however, I was so excited with the program that I never gave it
another thought once I arrived in Vegas.
I have traveled
all over, but this trip was exceptional. Not only
because I believe we were really in “God’s country” but because
I met the most incredible bunch of women and I had the time of
my life. I feel blessed of having met them all. They were
great traveling companions, Kellie was an awesome roommate and
guide, and even though the 10 of us had totally different
personalities, each and everyone had a lot to offer and I left
with many great and funny memories to keep in my heart forever.
I do hope that we can all go again on another one.
I am looking
forward to future trips, however, if I can give a suggestion, I
really believe that what made this trip so much fun, was that we
were a small group and got to know each other very well.
Looking forward
to the next one!
